Cops follow nuts and bolts clues
Blasts in Channapatna have given vital clues to the investigating agencies in Bengaluru. They are now trying to find out if the nuts and bolts, which were used in maximum number in all the bombs, including Channapatna, were manufactured anywhere in and around Bengaluru. On Tuesday more than 10 policemen in plainclothes visited several hardware shops in Bamboo Bazar and Kalasipalayam areas with the nuts and bolts recovered at blast cites. They have been visiting the shops posing as customers and asking them to make 50 to 60 boxes of such nuts and bolts.
According to one of the policemen, "From morning we have been visiting all hardware shops posing as customers and asking them to make such nuts and bolts."
Many of the shopkeepers have apparently said this is the first time they have come across this kind of make. "This is the first time we have seen something like this. We do know of some shops which make different kind of nuts and bolts on order. We will take you to them," the shopkeepers have told the police.
Sources confirmed that the police believes that these kinds of nuts and bolts, which are a little different in shape and size from the usual ones, have been purchased from somewhere in and around Bengaluru.
